Marla Custom Blinds has been able to further improve the 5 star lifestyle of Rockley Park holiday village in Dorset by the addition of 32 electric pleated roof blinds in the Owners Only Lounge.

Holiday home owners at the park, which is set in a beautiful coastal inlet overlooking Poole Harbour, will now be able to enjoy the sunny weather outside and then come into the lounge for a drink or a game of pool and stay cool.

Using a high performance solar reflective pleated fabric, the electric pleated roof blinds will not only reduce the heat gain but will also reduce glare so enabling the owners to watch the TV screens in the lounge during bright sunlight.

The orangery style roof measuring 11.0 metres x 4.0 metres and nearly 4.0 metres high at the ridge, required a total of 32 blinds to cover the 4 elevations of the roof.

To minimise the disruption to the guests at Rockley Park, the installation which took a total of 29 hours was started at 5.00pm one day and finished at 9.00pm the following day by a team of 4 fitters who worked continually in shifts.

The blinds were powered with Somfy motors and operated with a single multi-channel remote control handset which controlled the blinds both as a whole group where all 4 elevations operated as one and individually on each elevation which offered the flexibility of opening or closing the blinds on individual elevations as the sun moved across the sky during the day.
