The Arundel Shutter

The Arundel shutter is manufactured from Paulownia wood which is a fast-growing hardwood that originates from East Asia.

It is known for its lightweight yet strong characteristics, and it has a fine, straight grain with a smooth surface that takes paint well, allowing for customisation to match various interior designs.

While being lightweight, paulownia wood is also known for its stability. This is important in preventing warping or twisting, ensuring the shutters maintain their shape over time.

The insulating properties of paulownia wood can contribute to the energy efficiency of your home. The Arundel shutter can help maintain a more consistent indoor temperature by reducing heat gain during hot weather and heat loss during colder seasons.

Paulownia trees are known for their rapid growth, which can make the wood a potentially sustainable and environmentally friendly choice for shutter construction.

The Parham Shutter

The Parham shutter is manufactured using Monterey Pine, a durable, robust, medium density wood which is fast growing and sourced from New Zealand. Monterey Pine is often more affordable compared to some hardwoods, making the Parham shutter one of the more economical choices of shutter.

The Parham shutter is suitable for any type of pf window and is ideal as any style of shutter from full height shutters to tier on tier shutters and through to solid panel shutters.

As the Parham shutter is manufactured using Monterey pine, which is a light and durable wood, if cared for properly, it will last a lifetime and will make your home brighter and provide a more elegant feel.

Monterey Pine is often praised for its fast growth, making it a potentially sustainable source of wood. It is cultivated in plantations, and responsible forestry practices can contribute to its eco-friendly profile.

The Wilton Shutter

Despite being lightweight, the Wilton basswood shutter is known for its durability and resistance to warping or twisting. It has good stability, meaning it is less prone to expansion and contraction due to changes in temperature and humidity which is an important characteristic for shutters to maintain their shape over time.

Like other wood shutters, the Wilton shutter has inherent insulating properties. It can contribute to temperature regulation by providing a barrier between the interior and exterior, potentially improving energy efficiency.

The Ashdown Shutter

The Ashdown shutter is manufactured from sustainably sourced FSC certified White Ash which is known for its strength, hardness, and distinct grain pattern. While it is not as commonly used for shutters as some other woods, it can be a viable option for certain applications.

White Ash is a strong and durable wood, contributing to the longevity of the Ashdown shutter and whilst not as stable as some other hardwoods, the Ashdown shutter still exhibits reasonable stability.
