Overview
Roller Blinds are a firm favourite with many people and they are a well established traditional blind. The roller blind is a sturdy robust blind which is ideally suited for areas such as kitchens and bathrooms as the fabrics are nearly all moisture resistant. Roller Blinds are also particularly suitable when Blackout fabric is used for areas where overhead projectors are used in Boardrooms, Schools and Laboratories where a dark environment is required.
They are available in a wide range of fabrics and are finished at the bottom with a plain straight edge but if something more decorative is required, the bottom can be shaped with braid on the edge or shaped with braid on the edge and a pole which is available in many types of finish such as wood, brass, chrome, etc.
Also available are the System 32 cassette and the System 40 & 45 Fascia which are white powder coated curved aluminium covers which completely enclose the roller and brackets. The System 32 cassette has a rounded profile and the System 40 & 45 Fascia is a square profile. These covers enhance the appearance of the blind giving a neat professional finish.
One other major advantage that a roller blind has over some other types of blinds is that the fabric is flat next to the window and therefore allows you to retain the use of the window sill.
Fabrics
As with Vertical Blinds, the range of fabric patterns and colours that we are able to offer you is enormous as we carry ranges from 4 of the largest fabric manufacturers and we have access to virtually all the smaller fabric manufacturers.
This gives you not only a tremendous choice of design in a wide variety of colours but also allows you a choice of fabrics that are:
- Flame retardant
- VDU suitable fabrics (Anti Glare)
- Blackout
- Dimout
- Solar Protected (SPC)
- Washable
- Scotchguard protected
- Bactericidal protected
- Vertical and Pleated fabric
Head Rail & Bottom Rail
The head rail system that we manufacture is a 32mm slotted aluminium roller tube and a PVC slotted bottom bar which ensures the fabric is locked into both the roller tube and the PVC bottom bar making it impossible for the fabric to come adrift from either the tube or the bottom bar.
Operation
Operation of roller blinds is either by means of a continuous beaded cord loop fitted to one end of the roller tube which allows very precise control of the positioning of the fabric, or by means of a tensioned spring with a handle in the centre of the bottom bar and although positioning of the fabric is not quite so precise, it does mean that there are no cords hanging down the side of the blind and gives a very neat finished appearance especially where there are several roller blinds next to each other in areas such as conservatories.
System 32
The System 32 has long had the reputation for being durable, reliable and top quality. Now it has the added advantage of being available with an attractive cassette top box.
The cassette box has a rounded, soft appearance and it fully encloses the roller tube together with the end sets and brackets. The new fully integrated system is available in white with either a plain smooth fascia or with a profile fascia which allows fabric to be attached to the fascia giving the option to co-ordinate or compliment the interior design scheme.
Available up to 2m wide, with side chain control or spring control and with all the benefits and features of the standard system 32 roller blind, the system 32 cassette is ideally suited for both domestic and commercial applications.
