Marla network set for business growth as a result of external coaching

An external business coach will be providing additional support to Marla Custom Blinds’ national network of franchisees and the head office team to help them grow their businesses.

Martin Froud at Marla Custom Blinds explains: “Our business has developed from a sole trader to a franchise network over the last 20 years. In that time we’ve learnt a lot about how to successfully grow a business, as well as the blockages that can prevent growth. By investing in an external coach to work across the whole network we aim to help our team and our franchisees to continually improve and grow.”

Marla Custom Blinds has brought in Ian Dickson, an experienced business coach and motivational speaker, to provide monthly sessions to help everyone in the network to set and achieve business and personal goals. Ian specialises in developing easy-to-follow, step-by-step action plans which will benefit the core business and the individual franchisees.

Ian comments: “It’s great to see a franchisor invest in providing external services for their franchisees. Business coaching not only adds value to the support Marla Custom Blinds offers to its network, it also provides an outside perspective and motivating influence.”

Ian has been working with the network for three months and has already helped the franchisees to improve sales and marketing. His programme has encouraged franchisees to identify what needs to change and commit to working on it each month. He’s also helping them to focus on conversion rates.

This coaching is in addition to the support and guidance that Marla Custom Blinds already provides as franchisees grow their businesses from starting out as a sole trader working from home, to the potential of managing a team of fitters and sales people from office or retail premises.

Other training that Marla Custom Blinds provides to help franchisees to run their businesses effectively includes business planning, raising finance, marketing, sales, operations, accounts and administration.
